Terms of Service
Effective Date: May 6, 2026
CalHomeAid ("we", "us", or "our") is an independent personal project created to help people in California find affordable and emergency housing information in one convenient place.
1. Nature of the Service
CalHomeAid is not a government agency, housing authority, or official housing program. We are not affiliated with any city, county, state, or federal housing department.
We do not:
- Accept housing listings or submissions from users
- Act as a landlord, property manager, or housing provider
- Guarantee the accuracy, availability, or suitability of any listed property
All information displayed on CalHomeAid is aggregated from publicly available official sources (such as county websites, housing authority lists, and public records). We simply organize this information in a more user-friendly format.
2. No User-Generated Content
CalHomeAid does not allow users to post, upload, or submit housing listings, reviews, or any other content. The platform is read-only for visitors.
3. No Warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- The information is complete, accurate, or up-to-date
- The website will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Any particular housing option will be available
4. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CalHomeAid and its creator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on any information displayed.
5. Donations
Donations made through Buy Me a Coffee or any other platform are voluntary and non-refundable. Donations help cover hosting, domain, and maintenance costs. They do not create any partnership, membership, or entitlement to services.
6. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on this page. Your continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
